In RLSB’s latest move to reach out to West London vision impaired residents, a brand new sports activity club is to kick off this month.

The new Weekend Activity Club – part of RLSB’s Sport without Limits: Play programme – will offer football and athletics sessions for the young vision impaired participants, with a launch event taking place at Willesden Sports Centre between 2-4pm on 25 January.

“It’s a fantastic experience that builds a completely different vibe around sport,” said Community Services Manager Vince Lydon. “The club will allow our beneficiaries to build confidence up about sport.”

Last year, RLSB announced plans to launch its first ever Social and Peer Group in West London for vision impaired young people, thanks to funding from the Heathrow Community Group.

The new Weekend Activity Clubs will be held on a monthly basis at Willesden Sports Centre from 11-4pm and are open to all vision impaired young people aged 8-25 in London. Meanwhile sessions will also continue in South East London at the Bridge Leisure Centre and in Brighton and Eastbourne.
