Do you want to break out and try something a bit different?
Then why not join one of our Vision Independence Social and Peer groups exclusively available to vision impaired young people aged 18 – 25?
It’s a great chance to learn new skills, take part in exciting and challenging new experiences, and grow your confidence and independence.
You’ll take part in activities such as cooking classes, outdoor activity days and leadership workshops, all designed to challenge you to try something new and build your independence.
“You have to get out there and believe you can do it. You’re told you can’t do it because you can’t see, but when you come here you’re told ‘Yes, you can.’ Anything is possible for you. You can definitely achieve it. “
Throughout the programme you’ll have the chance to earn AQA accreditations and receive certificates for your achievements. These are great to reference on your CV and record of achievement.
Once you’ve been part of a group for 6 months you’ll also have the chance to join one of our residential leadership weekends. Through taking part in group activities such as crate stacking, rock climbing and canoeing, you’ll have the chance to gain an accreditation in leadership skills. Professionals will assess your participation, and how well you support the rest of your team. Impress them like we know you can, and you’ll leave with a leadership accreditation that can be used in your achievement folder.
