Finding a job as a vision impaired young person

As a general rule, you will have the same questions and issues searching for a job as a sighted person. However, there are some things that are specific to your circumstances.

Make an action plan

Whatever stage you are at, it’s often a good idea to start with an action plan. This plan is strictly for yourself and helps you:

  • set your goals for the next 4 to 6 weeks
  • set a date when you want to achieve each goal
  • lists things you need to do to achieve the goal

After 4 to 6 weeks, when you have achieved your goals, make another action plan for the next stage in your job search.
