Wednesday 29th May – Get to grips with Assistive Technology

Age: up to 25 years

Looking for support with how technology can make the world more accessible? Learn about VI apps, assistive software, how to get the most out of your smartphone/tablet...book a 1:1 session with RSBC’s Assistive Technology Officer.

 

Wednesday 29th May – Sky Studios News Report Workshop
Venue: Sky Studios, Grant Way, Isleworth, TW7 5QD
Time: 11-3pm
Age: 8-25 years

Ever wondered how a TV programme is created? Join the Sky Studios Workshop and get hands-on experience of creating your own TV content. You will work with a team of experts, using cutting-edge technology, to create a news report on Ocean Rescue, and gain experience of presenting, directing, producing and editing before watching the result of all your hard work.  You will also enjoy a behind the scenes tour of Sky Studios.

 

Thursday 30th May – VI Sports Day in collaboration with Arsenal in the Community
Venue: Market Road, London, N7 9PL
Time: 11-3pm
Age: 8-25 years

Sign up to this exciting Sports day for young people with a visual impairment aged 8-25, and have fun and make new friends. As well as testing your skills at a variety of sports including archery, boccia, dance and football, you will be able to take part in short accredited workshops in Nutrition, Money Management and Employment Advice. Certificates recording your achievements will be presented in July.

 

Friday 31st May – Capel Manor
Venue: Capel Manor, Bullsmoor Lane, Enfield, EN1 4RQ
Time: 9-5pm
Age: 8-25 years

Enjoy the chance to get closer to nature with RSBC’s Capel Manor experience. You will be able to take part in animal and reptile handling and a gardening and planting experience as well as an informative talk about careers and a sporting session. Lunch will be provided, and travel by mini-bus will be organised from the RSBC offices.

 

Saturday 1st June – Theatre Trip
Venue: Donmar Warehouse, 41 Earlham Street, Seven Dials, London, WC2H 9LX 
Time: 1-4:30pm
Age: 16-25 years

Join us for a theatre trip to watch "Sweet Charity", a musical set in 1960's New York about a dance hall host in search of love. You will also take part in a touch tour of the stage before the performance.
