This brand new role is an exciting opportunity to play a major part in the development of RSBC Dorton College. Transition in, during and out of the college and tracking of the learner journey against EHCP’s and Outcomes, for our students will be a crucial role in ensuring we maintain our high standards and effectiveness.
Employability learning and work experience placements are also a vital part of our learners’ experience while at Dorton College. This new role aims to place emphasis in this area, allowing the successful candidate to shape their own department, to ensure students’ employment opportunities in their post college destinations are maximised.
The successful candidate will be will have a degree level or equivalent qualifications and have experience working with children and young people with a visual impairment, including those who may have additional support needs.
Excellent communication skills are essential and good IT and report writing skills would also be beneficial. The ability to work under own initiative and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team is essential. Additionally, the ability to think creatively and problem solve, to plan, prepare and deliver learning activities ensuring individual needs are catered for.
The successful candidate may also need to have some flexibility in working hours to adequately meet the needs of the service.
Due to the nature of the Society’s work, the successful candidate will also be required to hold a current and acceptable enhanced DBS check, or be willing to undertake one.
