Alice's Story

Alice's parents, Gemma and Matt, are running this year's RSBC Blindfold Run 2018 in aid of their daughter, Alice, who was born with a congenital cataract in her right eye that has left her visually impaired.

Eurodesk is opening up opportunities for visually impaired young people.

In September this year over 100 visually impaired young people were awarded with AQA accreditations, covering a variety of activities and life skills. Awards were given for money management, writing a manifesto, health and safety and everything in between.

Two thirds of people in the UK have never met a blind child. These people won’t know many vision impaired children often face challenges that makes achieving their dreams harder than it should be. Many children go on to achieve their dreams, but this isn’t always the case. It’s time to stand up for #EveryBlindChild in the UK.

#EveryBlindChild Launch - Video

On Wednesday 31st January 2018 we launched our #EveryBlindChild campaign. We kicked off our nation-wide tour at Granary Square in Kings Cross, where artist Robert Montgomery and RSBC CEO Dr. Tom Pey spoke about the charities ambitions and how this campaign is going to help us reach the 36,000 blind children in the UK.

Comedians join London without Limits festival in support of blind young Londoners

Comedians Arthur Smith and Chris McCausland will join David Page and Joey Morgan for a very special edition of Comedy in the Dark. The comedians will perform to an audience pitched in total darkness at London’s West End Comedy Store. Comedy in the Dark which found success at the Edinburgh Fringe, is hosting the event to support the first ever London Without Limits festival.
