Two thirds of people in the UK have never met a blind child. These people won’t know many vision impaired children often face challenges that makes achieving their dreams harder than it should be. Many children go on to achieve their dreams, but this isn’t always the case. It’s time to stand up for #EveryBlindChild in the UK.
On Wednesday 31st January 2018 we launched our #EveryBlindChild campaign. We kicked off our nation-wide tour at Granary Square in Kings Cross, where artist Robert Montgomery and RSBC CEO Dr. Tom Pey spoke about the charities ambitions and how this campaign is going to help us reach the 36,000 blind children in the UK.
For the past year, as part of our #EveryBlindChild campaign, international artist Robert Montgomery has collaborated with blind and partially sighted children and their families to develop a piece of art that shares their stories and hopes for the future.
Following formal discussions The Royal London Society for Blind People (RLSB) and the Royal Blind Society (RBSoc) have agreed to form an association to better serve the needs of vision impaired children and young people and their families in England and Wales.
