Who can apply to take part in this trip?

You can apply to take part in this trip if you are Vision Impaired and aged 16-25 years old. You will need to have enough independent living skills to spend a couple of days away, Staff can provide some support in certain areas but get in touch with any questions about eligibility.

When is it?

This trip runs from the morning of the  28th of October and finishes in the afternoon of the 30th.

Where is it?

Condover Hall

7 Church Road, Stropshire SY5 7AU

Here is a link to the centre, please have a look through their website for more details.

How will we get there?

RSBC staff will be travelling from London via public transport, if you live close to London and want to travel with them, this can be arranged.

There is the option of meeting you at a station on the way, but you will need to get in touch to see if we can arrange this.

And if you are travelling with a parent or carer you can of course make your own way there and back.

What will we be doing over the time there?

From the moment you arrive your time will be full up as we will be doing activities that will push your boundaries and hopefully give you a new experience. The exact programme is to be released nearer the time but you can expect rock climbing, archery, outdoor laser tag and much more!

You will be staying with other young people from the group in shared rooms to all help each other through the journey.

All meals will also be provided so you only need to worry about bringing your clothes, phone and a sense of adventure.

Will I be really be able to take part in all of this and how will it be supervised?

The RSBC have very experienced staff and have run many groups like this before. People always enjoy themselves and make friend that they stay in touch with so you’re in safe hands.

The activities are picked by RSBC who will work with the team there to tailor it for your needs to make sure you can get the most from it.

What will this cost me?

This won’t cost you anything, thankfully the kind donors to the RSBC have made this possible! We do ask though if you commit to this then you participate fully and follow the rules set out for safety by RSBC staff. If you sign up and can’t make it for any reason let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your space to someone else.

For those of you who get a place we are going to have a zoom meeting beforehand on the 17th of October, this is for parents and you to ask questions and for everyone who will be on the trip to meet so you feel comfortable with each other before it starts.

If you are interested in this but unsure about anything just in touch so one of our staff can call and talk you through it and you can see if it’s for you or not. The spaces are limited so the sooner you sign up the more chance you have of securing yourself a space for the adventure of a lifetime.

If you want to get in touch with any questions then please email owain.robinson@rsbc.org.uk
