Regular monthly evening group sessions for parents and carers of vision impaired children and young people

Join us for our online sessions hosted by our team of RSBC Family Practitioners.

Who is this group for?

We have two online, monthly groups for all parents and carers of children and young people who are vision impaired.

Our main Connecting Families online group is for any family with a child aged 0-25 years, and we also have an Early Years Connecting Families online group for anyone with a child aged 0-4 years.

What does this group do?

The groups are hosted by our Family Practitioners from the Families First Team. They are friendly, supportive groups where you’ll learn from the experiences of other parents and carers, as well as sharing your own. Each month, the focus will be a different topic covering many of the milestones and challenges which parents and carers might face. It’ s a safe place where you can share your feelings, knowing others will understand and support you.

What to expect

  • Lots of group peer support
  • Empowering and supporting each other
  • Learning about and understanding emotional wellbeing
  • Sharing knowledge and experience
  • Discussing the challenges of raising a child with a vision impairment
  • An open advice forum – no question is too big or too small

How do I join in?

If you’re interested in taking part in either of the Connecting Families Online Groups, or if you have any questions at all, please contact us at familiesfirst@rsbc.org.uk.

You can also check the upcoming session dates and book a place on our What’s On calendar.
