Maya and Sharn’s story
When Sharn’s daughter Maya was diagnosed as blind, she felt completely alone. She was terrified - how would Maya learn to sit, crawl, walk, or enjoy life? And how could Maya ever experience the magic of Christmas?
Then Sharn met Mandie, an RSBC Family Practitioner, who gave her practical play ideas, guidance and reassurance - as well as sibling support that helped Maya’s sister, Ella, understand and adapt.
Thanks to Mandie, Sharn learned how to make everyday life - and Christmas - joyful again. And now Maya's thriving.
