Spring Residential Trip to Mount Cook Adventure Centre.

If you are 12-15 years old and have a vision impairment then this is your chance to sign up to the adventure of a life time.

RSBC are running the Spring residential Trip at Mount Cook Adventure Centre!

This FREE trip is funded through the donors of RSBC’s  and we are taking 8 young people on a 3 day stay at Mount Cook Adventure Centre, packed full of exciting, thrilling and adventure driven activities.

Based in the Peak District, known for its outstanding natural beauty, the Mount Cook Adventure centre will be accommodating us in private lodging, where over 3 days, you will be taking part in a wide range of outdoor and adventure activities which are sure to excite and amaze you. You will have the chance to share an unforgettable experience with other young people all, all of which are facilitated  by the centre’s expert team and our experienced staff at RSBC. Each day will take part in an action packed programme where the activities will give you the chance to try things out of the ordinary all under expert supervision and tailored to your needs.  A sample of the activities are archery tag, rock climbing, abseiling and much more but the real fun and learning takes part in sharing these experiences with new friends.

For those based nearer London we will be meeting at our Life without Limits Centre in London Bridge and traveling together both ways.

Alternatively you can meet us directly there if it’s nearer for you and be picked up afterwards.

The closest train station is Cromford station, Matlock DE4 5JJ, and pickup from the station to the centre can be arranged if needed!

Our residential trips are a truly amazing and unique opportunity for you to try new and exciting things, make some amazing new friends and form some fantastic memories that will last forever! Prior to the trip all attendees and parents will be required to join a zoom meeting outlining exactly what to expect on the trip and to ask questions.

Who can apply ?

You can apply if

  • You’re no younger than 12 years old by the 27th May 2024 and no older than 16 years old by the 27thMay 2024
  • You are blind or partially sighted
  • You are able to take your own medication (if any) independently
  • You can maintain you own personal hygiene
  • Be able to communicate your needs with members of staff.
  • Be able to engage physically, behaviorally and socially with others and follow instructions from centre and RSBC staff.
  • Independent enough to spend a couple of nights away from home and you’re ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

How much is it?

This trip is funded through RSBC’s range of kind donors and attendees can join this experience free of charge! This includes meals, drinks and accomodation throughout the trip. You may want a small amount of spending money for treats and snacks.
