All right, we are back with the Rsbc unseen podcast. We’re in the studio today with Alex and Jacob Eve. We have Noah here today, Mustafa Wahida. And Sammy, How’s your summer going?

Summer’s exciting.
Eve 0:18
It’s fun. I’m doing a lot of things music. I have done, playing with a playdough. And unfortunately, I couldn’t put it back, making like… bicycle rides like fruit.

I just bought some Lego. I made a car and a house and the smoothies bikes, they’re very enjoyable. I’ve had one here.

I mean, usually just bought stuff.

I’m just doing bits and bobs here and there. Living my best life.

Just yesterday, I’ve been with Vivek doing a Cook Along and we’ve been cooking ramen noodle soup, and it was delicious!

It was really fun and the ramen was really good. And I had the second plate. because it’s amazing!

Yeah. did you make it yourself? Didn’t you?
Eve 1:10
Yeah. But the great thing that we all worked as a team to build the raman up and it was so good.

Have you signed up to any other sessions during the summer?
Jacob 1:22
Yeah, next week on the Clip and Climb session.

I booked it. But Vivek is running it. So you’ll be in safe hands. Yeah. So that’d be really cool. Are you going to this Stubbers Adventure Day?

Yes, I’m coming. Definitely to the Stubbers adventure day.

I can’t even count how many times I went.

What’s your favorite activity there?

That’s a hard one to decide. I think maybe climbing or rifle shooting.

I’m pretty sure they’re gonna do rock climbing but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do it. But if I can, that will be good.

I mean, usually just sports stuff. So I can’t really remember off the top of my head. But anything sporty, I’m there!

Just so you know. I know, you looked at the program. You know, we have some new sessions. We do have a music teacher coming in. That’s going to be teaching guys how to play the piano. So if you want to come in and brush up on your skills, which, from what I heard, you need to

Rufus: I’m not doing too bad mate, you?
Alex: Yeah not too bad. Yeah. So we’ve got some questions for you, just mainly summer themed, because summer is over now. So I just want to wind down with just like, reflect to see how you found your summer. So what was your highlight of the summer?
Rufus: well, I was out, I was away I was out of the country. I been all over the place me.

Yeah. So Had there been any activities you attended with RSBC? Or was this your first one for the summer?
Rufus: 3:40
For now, this is the first thing I’ve done.
Alex 3:45
You’ve been with Rsbc. For a few years.
Rufus 3:49
Yeah, Three years ago. I started coming to your stuff. Yeah.
Eve 3:54
Here at RSBC. We did a lot of things over the summer. We did Stubbers we did rock climbing. We did music. Just because you wear glasses, it does not mean you can’t have fun over the summer!
*laugh*

I had a great summer. I did a lot.

What was your highlight?

I say my highlight was gaming!

Came to my gaming sessions.
Malachi: I did yeah.
Alex: Okay. What was your highlight of the gaming session?
Malachi 4:37
Um, I enjoy beating everybody. Yeah, yeah. beating everybody and I enjoyed Pig. That was a good one. and Uno!
Alex: Brilliant.

Jelani: That is Alex sitting right there with you. You did one of the I.T sessions. Do you remember which one that was Alex?

So it was the website creation session, where we created a blog didn’t we? For your games. Do you remember?

Or what games do you put on your blog?
Maz: Racing games, car games.

Yes. You’ve been attending quite a lot of sessions over the summer holiday, haven’t you?

I have certainly.

Thank you so much for volunteering your time. You can also volunteer as well by contacting us. But what sort of sessions did you sign up to this summer?
Steve 5:50
Right. It’s been quite a variety. I think it’s been a few Cook Along SupperClubs, pizza, ramen dahl. And some unusual stuff as well. It was clay pottery making, making stuff, out of clay, ceramic, decorating painting cups and plates. That was quite interesting with everybody, some fantastic stuff came out of that. Usual sport at Crystal Palace, a couple of sessions down there. And trip to Kew Gardens. That was very good. Second time, I’d been to Kew Gardens. And it’s much better when you get the guided tour as the Rsbc organized. So you actually get told, You know what these trees are and what they’re doing and how they got things down there about encouraging more green way of life and that kind of thing. What else? To think now. There must be other things, but I’m struggling. That sounded quite a lot!

It is a lot and what was your highlight out of that?
Steve 6:59
I think, Oh, the one I completely forgotten about the session last week, what they called the Hendrix Handle Music Creative music workshop, which was I think, jointly sponsored by the Hendricks handle Museum and RSBC when the young people actually over three days, developed a song, the lyrics and then recorded it in with professional singers as well, which I believe is then going to be released on the Internet at some stage.

Another wonderful volunteer Dami, who has supported us for how long have you been volunteering for us, Dami?

I volunteered in 2014, is when I first volunteered.
Alex 7:42
Wow. So another old timer. 2014 as eight years. So that’s crazy. And obviously you’re also supported us during the summer as well. So what sessions did you support us with?
Dami 7:57
I did cooking, but did the fun day. What else did I do? I think some of the Creative stuff. I can’t remember. And then yeah, I didn’t. I did a few but couldn’t remember everything. And unfortunately didn’t get to do as much this time around because I was much busy this summer. But it was nice.
Alex 8:20
Yeah. And obviously we have to allow our other volunteers to attend some of the sessions as well. So everyone gets a fair amount of you know, activities to volunteer on. So what was your highlight of the summer?
Dami 8:37
That’s probably, I say the fun day. That was good. Nice musical performances, getting to see everyone getting to see everyone happy. Getting to meet everybody. this year. And yeah, that was nice.

Is there anything that you’re looking forward to in the autumn.
Malachi 8:57
So this will be going out in like October so I can say, but I am going on Amplify. Amplify is run by young people for young people. And I’m going to be an Amplify influencer. Creating blogs for them.
