Independent Living Skills Workshop

On Wednesday the 8th of May, the RSBC will be running its first virtual Independent Living Skills workshop over zoom. The session will be starting at 5pm and finishing at 6pm, this is perfect for you or your child to start developing those skills you need to thrive. It’s suitable for  you if you want to learn to make your favourite sandwich or if you’re further along in your journey to being independent and you want to share your experience with others.

This workshop is open for anyone  with a vision impairment aged 11-25.

These workshops are designed and facilitated by our in house habilitation specialist, Anna Barnes. Anna brings a wealth of experience to young people and developing independent living skills. They are also a fantastic way to connect with others and make friends.

In this session,  you will be getting to know each other and having some laughs and we will look at identifying what our needs are and what we want to gain from these sessions. You could even have a think about this beforehand if you want to.

There will be eventually face to face sessions also based in the London, however you can just join this and see if it’s for you. You don’t need to bring or buy anything to the sessions!

If you have any questions about this or your suitability then get in touch. If you want to join but don’t know how to use zoom then let us know and we will see if we can help you access these workshops.

You can register until Friday 3rd of May to give us time to plan the sessions beforehand. If you are unable to make the activity please let us know as soon as possible as we have a waiting list for some activities.
